A collision led to Menchu FC getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Caetano Linhares hit a great ball. Camilo Salvidor took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dario Betzanos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 13th minute of the match Golden Dragón F.C got a corner. Menchu FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Fernandez Vizcarreto ran over to the corner to take the kick. A collision led to Golden Dragón F.C getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. 石洋康 hit a great ball. Hilario Pesquera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gabriele Batistuta in the 21st minute of the match. When Carlos Campelo came up free with the goalie in the 23rd minute, the Menchu FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Carlos Campelo couldn't finish the play. Hilario Pesquera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gabriele Batistuta in the 25th minute of play. In the 28th minute, Gabriele Batistuta got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 30thth minute of the game Dario Betzanos who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Menchu FC's Camilo Salvidor was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 33 minutes into the match, Menchu FC's goal looked a bit too open when Dario Betzanos came free, but Camilo Salvidor reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Golden Dragón F.C's Dario Betzanos in the 38th minute got a chance for a shot 38th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Menchu FC's goalie prevented a goal. In the 40th minute, Menchu FC's Gabriele Batistuta dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. A sloppy throw-in by Frédéric Chopin in the 42nd minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Golden Dragón F.C's Fernandez Vizcarreto. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.
The wind increased when Dario Betzanos made the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the match, Golden Dragón F.C's goal looked a bit too open when Gabriele Batistuta came free, but Hilario Pesquera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dario Betzanos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The throw-in from Selim Mićić in the 54th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Menchu FC's Abdoulay Doucouré. In the 61st minute Alan Petersen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Camilo Salvidor saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Golden Dragón F.C's Fernandez Vizcarreto got a free kick in the 61st minute. Golden Dragón F.C made a substitution. Camerino Luey replaced Selim Mićić. Hilario Pesquera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gabriele Batistuta, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Camilo Salvidor made an important save on a dangerous shot by Camerino Luey in the 78th minute. 80 minutes into the game, Menchu FC's Carlos Campelo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Hilario Pesquera made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. In the 84th minute, Emre Bolat ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Camilo Salvidor was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. Gabriele Batistuta sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Menchu FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 94th minute, when Camerino Luey scored to the left of an out of position Camilo Salvidor, making the score, 2-2. Neither team could find the winning goal during normal time. The second half finished 2-2. Extra-time would have to be played.
Golden Dragón F.C's Hilario Pesquera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arturo Roderigo in the 104th minute of play. Camilo Salvidor made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Camerino Luey in the 105th minute of play. In the 109th minute, Fernandez Vizcarreto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 111th minute, Arturo Roderigo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Menchu FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-2. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Menchu FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Golden Dragón F.C had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
