The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Isaias Garcia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Juan Luis Dittborn in the 2nd minute of play. A collision led to Boedo Athletic. getting a freekick after 3 minutes play. Rosendo Aritza hit a great ball. 4 minutes into the match, Boedo Athletic.'s goal looked a bit too open when Juan Luis Dittborn came free, but Isaias Garcia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Giuseppe Meazza's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Isaias Garcia read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 9th minute of play. After 12 minutes of play, Inter de Chillán's Steve Vaid made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Isaias Garcia was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 17 played minutes Inter de Chillán got a freekick which was hit by Juan Luis Dittborn. Boedo Athletic.'s Isaias Garcia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Giuseppe Meazza in the 20th minute of play. Giuseppe Meazza took the ball and in the 22 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Isaias Garcia. Isaias Garcia dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-4. 31 minutes into the match, Juan Luis Dittborn had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Isaias Garcia. Boedo Athletic.'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Juan Luis Dittborn was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-5. After 37 minutes, Juan Luis Dittborn made it 0-6 with a short kick to the right side. Boedo Athletic.'s Isaias Garcia tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. 41 minutes into the match, Boedo Athletic.'s goal looked a bit too open when Steve Vaid came free, but Isaias Garcia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Steve Vaid in the 44th minute of play forced Boedo Athletic.'s goalkeeper Isaias Garcia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Boedo Athletic. booed when Inter de Chillán was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rogerio Berecedo didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 59 played minutes Inter de Chillán got a freekick which was hit by Juan Luis Dittborn. In the 61st minute Gaspar Mitxaut shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but José Ignacio Rocha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Isaias Garcia was a little too slow when Juan Luis Alfaro got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 65th minute. The score was now 1-7. After a rather tough play, Boedo Athletic.'s Anier Elazar got a free kick in the 67th minute. Arnaldo Detmer, 68 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. In the 74th minute, Inter de Chillán's Francisco Lacunza ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Isaias Garcia. Isaias Garcia yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-8. 81 minutes into the game, Steve Vaid recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Isaias Garcia. Steve Vaid showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-9. After 87 played minutes Boedo Athletic. got a freekick which was hit by Anier Elazar. The Inter de Chillán players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
