The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 9 played minutes Lemel SV got a freekick which was hit by Jacek Furlit. After 11 played minutes Lemel SV got a freekick which was hit by Patrick Hoffmann. The audience thought a goal was coming when Claudio Caniggia got free with Silvestre Peli in the 14th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Dennis Bergkamp could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 17th minute of the match, but Silvestre Peli made a huge save. Silvestre Peli made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Manfred Konradsson in the 21st minute of play. The supporters of La Bichineta booed when Lemel SV was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jacek Furlit didn't get a good kick on the ball. 26 minutes into the match, Lemel SV's goal looked a bit too open when Felix Castel came free, but Lin Hong Song reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 34th match minute, La Bichineta was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Felix Castel to maneuver through the defense. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Carolo Abancens to make the kick off. After a rather tough play, La Bichineta's Sun Yuan Zheng got a free kick in the 51st minute. 53 minutes into the match, La Bichineta's goal looked a bit too open when Dennis Bergkamp came free, but Silvestre Peli reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. La Bichineta's Silvestre Peli played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dennis Bergkamp in the 55th minute of play. La Bichineta's Joaquin Lore was substituted for Carolo Abancens. With a little luck, Lemel SV's Lin Hong Song got control of the ball when Vennard Rojak tried to sneak it across the goal line. Vennard Rojaks short, quick shot in the 85thth minute got Lin Hong Song to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Manfred Konradsson in the 87th minute of play forced La Bichineta's goalkeeper Silvestre Peli to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Silvestre Peli made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Roberto Rivelino in the 91st minute of play. After 92 minutes of play, Lemel SV's Roberto Rivelino made it 4-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net.
