The audience thought a goal was coming when Zayvion Ispuzua got free with Horacio Jesus Urruticoechea in the 11th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Zayvion Ispuzua might have been able to make a better finish in the 17th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Horacio Jesus Urruticoechea. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Zayvion Ispuzua ran back to his position shaking his head. Horacio Jesus Urruticoechea took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zayvion Ispuzua, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 19th minute Gaitano Valdovinos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gilmar Quadros saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gilmar Quadros stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gregorio Quintero's shot from short distance in the 19th minute. 20 minutes into the game, Bradford Scalzo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Barcelona de América's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cobresal the free kick. Gregorio Quintero hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match.
