The referee ignored Karpuzlu's protests and gave Semavi Umuralp a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Karpuzlu getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Semavi Umuralp hit a great ball. Erbatur Kutan's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rollo Trieb read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 10th minute of play. In the 18th minute, Erol Can made a precise shot to the right of Rollo Trieb. Bentgerhof FSV's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. 21 minutes into the game, Alfonso Görlitz cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Baturay Özluer was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Through an outstanding action, after 31 minutes, Rollo Trieb successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. 39 minutes into the match, Bentgerhof FSV's goalkeeper Rollo Trieb had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Erol Can. After 40 minutes, Alfons Behnert mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Bentgerhof FSV and the Karpuzlu players grew even worse after the yellow card. Alfons Behnert kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. After 44 minutes, Bahtiyar Yalaz mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Karpuzlu and the Bentgerhof FSV players grew even worse after the yellow card. Rollo Trieb came out of the goal and Erbatur Kutan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Arnim Blank could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 56th minute of the match, but Baturay Özluer made a huge save. When Erol Can came up free with the goalie in the 61st minute, the Karpuzlu fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Erol Can couldn't finish the play. Baturay Özluer showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alfonso Görlitz in the 62nd minute of the match. A hard shot 71 in the game by Arnim Blank from a close distance when the talented Baturay Özluer managed to make a qualified save. Karpuzlu's players were relieved. Bentgerhof FSV's Arnim Blank got a good chance for a goal in the 73rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Arnim Blank who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 79thth minute tested the skills of Baturay Özluer when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After 80 played minutes Karpuzlu got a freekick which was hit by Bahtiyar Yalaz. An unexpectedly hard shot by Erbatur Kutan in the 85th minute of play forced Bentgerhof FSV's goalkeeper Rollo Trieb to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Bentgerhof FSV supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Bentgerhof FSV would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
