Chivos's Kaan Safir played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Benedicto Naelio in the 6th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Argentina's Leonel Bastiaro got a free kick in the 6th minute. Ezequiel Abecia hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. 12 minutes into the game, Benedicto Naelio recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Kaan Safir. Benedicto Naelio showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Kaan Safir made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Benedicto Naelio in the 19th minute of play. A collision led to Chivos getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Amancio Pinto hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gregorio Urtsin got free with Kaan Safir in the 26th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Kaan Safir made a fantastic save in the 30th minute, when Gregorio Urtsin sent off a good shot on target. Chivos's Kaan Safir played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Benedicto Naelio in the 36th minute of play. Lev Yashin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wilfredo Cordara, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. The supporters of Chivos booed when Argentina was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fausto Santana didn't get a good kick on the ball. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Kaan Safir breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 58 minutes into the match, Fausto Santana had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Kaan Safir. Chivos's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Fausto Santana was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Pedro Jaunti recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 65th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Chivos's Lindo Trabucco was substituted for Arsenio Garoa. 71 minutes into the game, Loco Durazno cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Kaan Safir was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Silas de Lima could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 79th minute of the match, but Lev Yashin made a huge save. Chivos were awarded a corner in the 80th minute after Argentina's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Alonzo Oto took the corner. An unexpectedly hard shot by Roman Gregory in the 83rd minute of play forced Chivos's goalkeeper Kaan Safir to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Kaan Safir showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Roman Gregory in the 88th minute of the match.
