The wind increased when Horea Frumușanu made the kick off in the second half. When Horea Frumușanu fell near the penalty area in the 50th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored U Craiova's protests and gave Horea Frumușanu a yellow card for diving instead. Horea Frumușanu kicked well hit freekick during the 50th minute of the match. Azulgrana 81's Cirilo Peyo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Narcis Silişteanu in the 52nd minute of play. Dorin Cârstoiu ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Dorin Cârstoiu almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Azulgrana 81's Cirilo Peyo did a great save. The referee's whistle sounded for the end of the second half. The match was tied at 1-1. None of the players looked happy at the prospect of extra-time.
