Mateo Llorienzo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Roland Banaszak to make the kick off. After 50 minutes, Domingo Jago mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Merengue FC and the Garlic Eaters players grew even worse after the yellow card. With a little luck, Merengue FC's Mateo Llorienzo got control of the ball when Justin Collingwood tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 84th match minute, Garlic Eaters was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pavol Stano to maneuver through the defense. Nikolay Bonkov made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Raimundo Gonsalvo in the 88th minute of play. After 95 minutes of play, Merengue FC's Edelmiro Quintyn made it 1-5 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Nikolay Bonkov was left in no man's land by his defense there! Justin Collingwood came free with the goalkeeper in the 98th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Mateo Llorienzo could save by the left post. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Garlic Eaters walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
