With an extended leg and a bit of luck Mateo Llorienzo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Mateo Llorienzo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Anaia Barba in the 14th minute of the match. In the 17th minute Germano Pernambucano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mateo Llorienzo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 18th minute of the match Mexilhão F. C. got a corner. Merengue FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Ronaldinho Romero ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led to Mexilhão F. C.'s Serafino Herena getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. In the 22nd minute of the match Mexilhão F. C. got a corner. Merengue FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Ronaldinho Romero ran over to the corner to take the kick. Mateo Llorienzo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ronaldinho Romero's shot from short distance in the 29th minute. With a little luck, Mexilhão F. C.'s Intxixu Porregimon got control of the ball when Darwin Núñez tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 32nd minute of the match Merengue FC got a corner. An unexpectedly hard shot by Germano Pernambucano in the 39th minute of play forced Merengue FC's goalkeeper Mateo Llorienzo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 39 minutes into the match, Germano Pernambucano notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Merengue FC's Mateo Llorienzo. Mateo Llorienzo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Arvin Larsson kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. 43 minutes into the game, Kacper Jaworski was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Mexilhão F. Edelmiro Quintyn recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 44th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Anaia Barba made a kick off. Mateo Llorienzo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Anaia Barba, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. After a rather tough play, Merengue FC's Ismael Frances got a free kick in the 65th minute. 70 minutes into the match, Merengue FC's goalkeeper Mateo Llorienzo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ronaldinho Romero. 72 minutes into the match, Roland Banaszak had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Intxixu Porregimon. Mexilhão F. C.'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Roland Banaszak was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. The supporters of Mexilhão F. C. booed when Merengue FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Darwin Núñez didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ismael Frances sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The supporters of Merengue FC booed when Mexilhão F. C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kacper Jaworski didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edelmiro Quintyn in the 91st minute of play forced Mexilhão F. C.'s goalkeeper Intxixu Porregimon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Mexilhão F. C. walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
