The supporters of Palestra do Interior booed when PLUMIN was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Francisco Rolado didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 3 played minutes, Palestra do Interior's Jhon Barcellos shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Leonides Matteo came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Palestra do Interior reached it. The supporters of Palestra do Interior booed when PLUMIN was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Flavio Emeterio didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 4th minute of the match Jhon Barcellos sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Leonides Matteo skillfully saved the ball. In the 11th minute, Delfim Quintal got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Froilan Urtungo took the ball and in the 16 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Antônio Carlos Cavalcante. Antônio Carlos Cavalcante dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. In the 24th minute, Serafim Simão made a precise shot to the right of Leonides Matteo. PLUMIN's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. The audience was convinced that Jhon Barcellos's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Leonides Matteo was relentless in the 30th minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jhon Barcellos in the 33rd minute of play forced PLUMIN's goalkeeper Leonides Matteo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Serafim Simão got free with Leonides Matteo in the 37th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If William Luz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 41 minutes, Jhon Barcellos mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Palestra do Interior and the PLUMIN players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Palestra do Interior's Jhon Barcellos got a free kick in the 41st minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Clodoveo Benvide during the 46th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Clodoveo Benvide kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Clodoveo Benvide was the one to do the kick off. Jhon Barcellos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Leonides Matteo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Serafim Simão sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Leonides Matteo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jhon Barcellos in the 54th minute of play. 56 minutes into the match, Serafim Simão had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Leonides Matteo. PLUMIN's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Serafim Simão was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. Carlos Bartolome lost his temper 59 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. Dorival Almeida sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 65th minute, Jhon Barcellos ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Leonides Matteo was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-1. 72 minutes into the match, PLUMIN's goal looked a bit too open when Jhon Barcellos came free, but Leonides Matteo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Leonides Matteo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jhon Barcellos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Serafim Simão in the 78th minute of play forced PLUMIN's goalkeeper Leonides Matteo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 79th minute Jhon Barcellos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leonides Matteo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. PLUMIN's Leonides Matteo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jhon Barcellos in the 85th minute of play. 86 minutes into the match, PLUMIN's goal looked a bit too open when William Luz came free, but Leonides Matteo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 89th minute, Serafim Simão ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Leonides Matteo was frozen by the shot and now it was 7-1. 93 minutes into the game, Dorival Almeida cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 8-1. Leonides Matteo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 97 minutes of play, Palestra do Interior's Serafim Simão made it 9-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Leonides Matteo was left in no man's land by his defense there! There was no doubt that Palestra do Interior were the better team. Palestra do Interior's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
