He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Herblay reached it. 8 minutes into the game, Hugo Ceandro cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Norbert Domenech was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 15 minutes into the match, Consejo del Mate's goalkeeper Bernardo Inautzi had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dove Roig. Dove Roig received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Bernardo Inautzi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Dove Roig had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dove Roig fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bernardo Inautzi having to interfere. Norbert Domenech showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hugo Ceandro, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. Norbert Domenech took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arnaldo Librado, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Emiliano Abreu in the 27th minute of play forced Herblay's goalkeeper Norbert Domenech to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bernardo Inautzi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jean-Charles Gauche, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dove Roig got free with Bernardo Inautzi in the 39th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 42 played minutes Herblay got a freekick which was hit by Mathieu Bouziane. 45 minutes into the match, Consejo del Mate's goal looked a bit too open when Jean-Charles Gauche came free, but Bernardo Inautzi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dove Roig sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

After 55 minutes, Jonathan Samuel mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Herblay and the Consejo del Mate players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Consejo del Mate booed when Herblay was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jonathan Samuel didn't get a good kick on the ball. Herblay were awarded a corner in the 61th minute after Consejo del Mate's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Lucien Decottignies took the corner. After 63 minutes of play Herblay's Jonathan Samuel was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. In the 64th match minute, Herblay was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jonathan Samuel to maneuver through the defense. Dove Roig fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bernardo Inautzi having to interfere. In the 69th match minute, Herblay was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jean-Charles Gauche to maneuver through the defense. Emiliano Abreu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Norbert Domenech having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dove Roig in the 78th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Bernardo Inautzi saved Consejo del Mate from getting behind. After a defensive mix-up in Consejo del Mate's zone, Jean-Charles Gauche stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bernardo Inautzi came out of the goal and Jean-Charles Gauche tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 85th minute Dove Roig shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bernardo Inautzi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Horacio Peruxu kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. Dove Roig fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bernardo Inautzi having to interfere. A collision led to Consejo del Mate getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Horacio Peruxu hit a great ball. Bernardo Inautzi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dove Roig, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
