After a rather tough play, Palestra do Interior's Ulysses Neto got a free kick in the 18th minute. After having played for 18 minutes, Genaro Frechoso managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Falckner FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Genaro Frechoso was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 20th minute, Serafim Simão made a precise shot to the right of Amancio Paez. Falckner FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. Dorival Almeida kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Dedé Mazer during the 27th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Falckner FC booed when Palestra do Interior was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dorival Almeida didn't get a good kick on the ball. David Vale charged in rather forcefully in the 31st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

Falckner FC's Amancio Paez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by William Luz in the 51st minute of play. Ulysses Neto charged in rather forcefully in the 56th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Ulysses Neto hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. 58 minutes into the match, Falckner FC's goal looked a bit too open when William Luz came free, but Amancio Paez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Wilfredo Gil sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Palestra do Interior booed when Falckner FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jimeno Celio didn't get a good kick on the ball. Falckner FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Serafim Simão was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. Amancio Paez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dorival Almeida, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Dionisio Emesto fell near the penalty area in the 88th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Falckner FC's protests and gave Dionisio Emesto a yellow card for diving instead. Dionisio Emesto kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. If Dionisio Emesto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 94 minutes into the game, Jhon Barcellos cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-0. Amancio Paez was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in.
