Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Serafim Simão in the 38th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ernesto Varela prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

ITAFUT 4EVER made a substitution. Betão Moura replaced Robinho Magalhães. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Serafim Simão stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 55 played minutes ITAFUT 4EVER got a freekick which was hit by Léo Velasco. Serafim Simão might have been able to make a better finish in the 57th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ernesto Varela. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. The supporters of ITAFUT 4EVER booed when Palestra do Interior was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ulysses Neto didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dorival Almeida sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Estevez Palmeira struck a weak shot in the 94th minute. Antônio Carlos Cavalcante didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for ITAFUT 4EVER. After 96 minutes of play, ITAFUT 4EVER's Edgar Baiano made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Antônio Carlos Cavalcante was left in no man's land by his defense there!
