Luís Eduardo Arce recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 14th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Herblay's Jean-Charles Gauche slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Samuca Bezerra. That made the score 1-0 after 19 minutes of play. Jean-Charles Gauche could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 32nd minute of the match, but Samuca Bezerra made a huge save. After recieving a nice pass, Rondinone F.C - FDFDF's Arnaldo Coutinho tried to score from far away in the 45th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Dove Roig stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Pedrinho do Valle fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Norbert Domenech having to interfere. Rondinone F.C - FDFDF made a substitution. Perivaldo Pitta replaced Pedrinho do Valle. Norbert Domenech showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tiaguinho Faria, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. Tiaguinho Faria's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Norbert Domenech read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 70th minute of play. In the 74th minute, Rondinone F.C - FDFDF's Luís Eduardo Arce dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. After a defensive mix-up in Herblay's zone, Tiaguinho Faria stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Norbert Domenech came out of the goal and Tiaguinho Faria tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 80 played minutes Rondinone F.C - FDFDF got a freekick which was hit by Perivaldo Pitta. In the 82nd minute Luís Eduardo Arce shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Norbert Domenech saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 87 minutes, Luís Eduardo Arce mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Rondinone F.C - FDFDF and the Herblay players grew even worse after the yellow card.
