In the 4th minute, Jataiense Futebol Clube's Dino Favoretto seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Dino Favoretto the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Jataiense Futebol Clube protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Dino Favoretto had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. A collision led to Jataiense Futebol Clube getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. Dino Favoretto hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 6th minute, Fabinho Sarmento managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ekzema F.V.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Fabinho Sarmento was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Délio Azevedo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Wellington Moura recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 7th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. José Paulo Romero fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sílvio Cordeiro having to interfere. The supporters of Jataiense Futebol Clube booed when Ekzema F.V. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Samuca Tróia didn't get a good kick on the ball. Claudinei Arantes hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. Ekzema F.V.'s Sílvio Cordeiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by José Paulo Romero in the 17th minute of play. Sílvio Cordeiro made an important save on a dangerous shot by Wellington Moura in the 21st minute. Délio Azevedo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Claudinei Arantes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Samuca Tróia scored 0-1 in the 29th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Délio Azevedo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. A collision led to Ekzema F.V. getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Fred Vianna hit a great ball. Wellington Moura let the left foot speak when in front of goal in the 36th minute shot 1-1 at rihgt post. Délio Azevedo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Samuca Tróia in the 42nd minute of the match. When Wellington Moura came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the Jataiense Futebol Clube fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Wellington Moura couldn't finish the play. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

In the 51st minute the ball was on its way in behind Ekzema F.V.'s goalkeeper Sílvio Cordeiro, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wellington Moura in the 53rd minute of play forced Ekzema F.V.'s goalkeeper Sílvio Cordeiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 60 played minutes Jataiense Futebol Clube got a freekick which was hit by Wellington Moura. 61 minutes into the match, Jataiense Futebol Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Samuca Tróia came free, but Délio Azevedo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 69 played minutes Ekzema F.V. got a freekick which was hit by Maicon Linhares. 71 minutes into the match, Ekzema F.V.'s goal looked a bit too open when Edmundo Castro came free, but Sílvio Cordeiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jataiense Futebol Clube's Wellington Moura got a good chance for a goal in the 73rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Délio Azevedo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fernando Batista, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. The supporters of Ekzema F.V. booed when Jataiense Futebol Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rony Alvarenga didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 89th minute Samuca Tróia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Délio Azevedo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Jataiense Futebol Clube players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
