After some fancy dribbling in the 51st minute, Ronaldo Pinho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Castanheiro SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Ronaldo Pinho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nicolas Urko breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A hard and well directed shot from Sebastião Paulista led 87 minutes into the game to a goal after the ball had bounced deceptively just in front of the goal. Las Palmas's Nicolas Urko became a little unsure and couldn't grip the ball before it was over the goalline. Thus it was 8-1. Dagoberto de Queirós showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nicanor Fanuco, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. When the match had gone on for 95 minutes, Telmo da Fonseca put it in 9-1 from a short distance just to the right of Nicolas Urko. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Castanheiro SC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Las Palmas had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
