Dionisio Emesto might have been able to make a better finish in the 25th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Dagoberto de Queirós. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Dionisio Emesto ran back to his position shaking his head. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dionisio Emesto got free with Dagoberto de Queirós in the 29th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Jailson Esteves hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Telmo da Fonseca kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Amancio Paez. That made the score 0-3 in the 58 minute of play. Thanks to some nice moves Zé Pedro Dionísio could shoot a difficult shot in the 67th minute, which Amancio Paez however easily saved by the left post. In the 72nd minute Ronaldo Pinho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Amancio Paez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 74th play minutes Ronaldo Pinho shot 0-4, a short shot which went by Amancio Paez and just under the crossbar into goal. 90 minutes into the game, Zé Pedro Dionísio recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Amancio Paez. The Castanheiro SC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Castanheiro SC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
