A collision led to 卡納里尼奧 FC getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Eurico Paes hit a great ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rony Alvarenga during the 7th minute. Carlos Marinho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wellington Moura, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 卡納里尼奧 FC were furious when Armandinho Pombal was red carded, 27 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. The referee gave Jataiense Futebol Clube a penalty, 30 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Wellington Moura, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of 卡納里尼奧 FC's Carlos Marinho. 0-1. The crowd rose to their feet as Régis Vides kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Délio Azevedo. That made the score 1-1 in the 35 minute of play. Agostinho Guedes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Délio Azevedo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Laerte Marquez in the 46th minute of play. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Wellington Moura made a kick off. In the 52nd minute Wellington Moura shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carlos Marinho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 卡納里尼奧 FC's Carlos Marinho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rony Alvarenga in the 54th minute of play. In the 56th minute Agostinho Guedes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Délio Azevedo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jataiense Futebol Clube's Glauco Correia was substituted for José Paulo Romero. After 79 played minutes 卡納里尼奧 FC got a freekick which was hit by Evaristo de Lima. After a rather tough play, Jataiense Futebol Clube's Aaran Goiano got a free kick in the 82nd minute. Carlos Marinho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edmundo Castro in the 90th minute of play.
