Nery Pumpido was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Guilherme Veiga showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tadeo Eneas, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. Tabossi's Nery Pumpido played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Trey Echols in the 19th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Trey Echols in the 22nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nery Pumpido prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Racing Miami Futbol Club's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Vance Tidwell in the 23rd minute. After 25 minutes Tabossi's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Vance Tidwell who took care of the corner kick. The corner first didn't look so dangerous but when Tyrone Terrell got the ball he succeeded in some way to get through the defenders to deliver a very hard score. Result 0-3. 25 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Osvaldinho Ósvaldsson in the 28th minute of play forced Tabossi's goalkeeper Nery Pumpido to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Larry Cermak struck a weak shot in the 29th minute. Nery Pumpido didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Racing Miami Futbol Club. Guilherme Veiga took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tadeo Eneas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 35th match minute, Tabossi was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Filomeno Guifre to maneuver through the defense. Osvaldinho Ósvaldsson took the ball and in the 37 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Nery Pumpido. Nery Pumpido dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-4. Albino Sabin kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. 43 minutes into the match, Tabossi's goal looked a bit too open when Trey Echols came free, but Nery Pumpido reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 45th minute, James Joyner hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After the first half Racing Miami Futbol Club were leading 0-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Racing Miami Futbol Club's Rodney Hagen was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 85th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Chance Adams could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 89th minute of the match, but Nery Pumpido made a huge save.
