The Racing Club fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Cornelio Cordearo should have stopped the shot. Through an outstanding action, after 9 minutes, Benjamin Tino successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Benjamin Tino took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luciano Pirro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 13th minute, Samuel Nevada hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 15th match minute, Racing Club was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Samuel Nevada to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 17th minute, Luciano Pirro managed to get in a good position for a shot. Racing Club's supporters rose to their feet, but Luciano Pirro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Benjamin Tino breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Indiana Jones in the 19th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Cornelio Cordearo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When the match had gone on for 26 minutes, Indiana Jones put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Cornelio Cordearo. An unexpectedly hard shot by Indiana Jones in the 29th minute of play forced Racing Club's goalkeeper Cornelio Cordearo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luciano Pirro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 33rd minute of the match, but Benjamin Tino made a huge save. After taking down the ball on Racing Club's corner Samuel Nevada fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Benjamin Tino quite easily take care of the ball. 36 minutes into the match, Club El Progreso's goalkeeper Benjamin Tino had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Luciano Pirro. Benjamin Tino stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Luciano Pirro's shot from short distance in the 40th minute. In the 40thth minute of the game Luciano Pirro who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Club El Progreso's Benjamin Tino was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luciano Pirro in the 41st minute of play forced Club El Progreso's goalkeeper Benjamin Tino to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Racing Club's Cornelio Cordearo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Indiana Jones in the 46th minute of play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

Luciano Pirro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Benjamin Tino tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Racing Club made a substitution. Epifanio Txomin replaced Luciano Pirro. After 72 played minutes Racing Club got a freekick which was hit by Samuel Nevada. Benjamin Tino came out of the goal in the 75th minute to try and stop a shot by Racing Club's Epifanio Txomin. But to his dismay, Epifanio Txomin quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. After having played for 82 minutes, Ramiro Lano managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Racing Club's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ramiro Lano was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a little luck, Racing Club's Cornelio Cordearo got control of the ball when Indiana Jones tried to sneak it across the goal line. Indiana Jones received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Cornelio Cordearo came out and tried to block the shot, but Indiana Jones slotted it home off the left post making it 1-4 in the 84th minute. Benjamin Tino made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Epifanio Txomin in the 94th minute of play. After 95 minutes, Stephan Testaferrata Bonici mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Club El Progreso and the Racing Club players grew even worse after the yellow card. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Club El Progreso had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
