Reine Gernberg hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. If Yüce Safer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the Sportklubben defense, Rıfkı Polat kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Bengt-Rune Gunnarsson. The Sportklubben fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Bengt-Rune Gunnarsson should have stopped the shot. Rıfkı Polat spun around in front of the goal 19 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of Sportklubben's goal. After 21 minutes, Eric Vennerkvist mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sportklubben and the Ayvalik FK players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 21st minute, Eric Vennerkvist hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Rıfkı Polat succeeded in the game's 23rd minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 0-2. After 26th play minutes Ivar Fernström shot 1-2, a short shot which went by Vacid Özaltuğ and just under the crossbar into goal. Vacid Özaltuğ made a fantastic save in the 32nd minute, when Ivar Fernström sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Niklas Isaksson in the 36th minute of play forced Ayvalik FK's goalkeeper Vacid Özaltuğ to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ayvalik FK's Rıfkı Polat got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Niklas Isaksson came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the Sportklubben fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Niklas Isaksson couldn't finish the play. In the 47th minute, Henrik Bank left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Sportklubben fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Rıfkı Polat was the one to do the kick off. 53 minutes into the match, Rıfkı Polat notched a goal, 2-3, to the right of Sportklubben's Bengt-Rune Gunnarsson. Bengt-Rune Gunnarsson was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Vacid Özaltuğ made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ivar Fernström in the 55th minute of play. Ivar Fernström scored 3-3 in the 58th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Vacid Özaltuğ, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The crowd rose to their feet as Sait Şensoy kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Bengt-Rune Gunnarsson. That made the score 4-4 in the 68 minute of play. When Ayvalik FK's Emin Özkaya, in the 72nd minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Ayvalik FK. Tobias Karlsson hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. Rıfkı Polat fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bengt-Rune Gunnarsson having to interfere. In the 80th minute Rıfkı Polat shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bengt-Rune Gunnarsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ayvalik FK's Rıfkı Polat got a good chance for a goal in the 82nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Henrik Bank fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vacid Özaltuğ having to interfere. After having played for 93 minutes, Rıfkı Polat managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ayvalik FK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rıfkı Polat was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 97 minutes into the match, Sportklubben's goal looked a bit too open when Rıfkı Polat came free, but Bengt-Rune Gunnarsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the final whistle sounded Ayvalik FK left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Sportklubben.
