If Rıfkı Polat had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Iosif Mitu kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. Ayvalik FK's defense didn't have a chance, in the 17th minute, when Horia Ionaș scored to the left of an out of position Vacid Özaltuğ, making the score, 2-0. Yüce Safer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Manole Mocanu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 38th minute the ball was on its way in behind Steaua București's goalkeeper Manole Mocanu, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 43rd minute, Emin Özkaya ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Manole Mocanu was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-1.

After a defensive mix-up in Steaua București's zone, Rıfkı Polat stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Manole Mocanu came out of the goal and Rıfkı Polat tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Iosif Mitu fell near the penalty area in the 53rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Steaua București's protests and gave Iosif Mitu a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Steaua București getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Iosif Mitu hit a great ball. When the match had gone on for 56 minutes, Rıfkı Polat took a quick shot and it went in 3-2 without a chance for Manole Mocanu to make any attempt to save it. If Emin Özkaya had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rıfkı Polat struck a weak shot in the 61st minute. Ayvalik FK's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Horia Ionaș was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-2. Iosif Mitu struck a weak shot in the 67th minute. Vacid Özaltuğ didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Steaua București. In the 67th minute Horia Ionaș shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vacid Özaltuğ saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Manole Mocanu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rıfkı Polat in the 68th minute of the match. Pars Akkılıç kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. Vacid Özaltuğ took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Iosif Mitu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Manole Mocanu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Emin Özkaya, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Manole Mocanu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Rıfkı Polat's shot from short distance in the 75th minute. After 77 minutes of play, Steaua București's Horia Ionaș made it 5-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Vacid Özaltuğ was left in no man's land by his defense there! When Cezar Ponor fell near the penalty area in the 80th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Steaua București's protests and gave Cezar Ponor a yellow card for diving instead. In the 80th match minute, Steaua București was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cezar Ponor to maneuver through the defense. Steaua București's Cazimir Stroiescu was substituted for Cezar Ponor. But to his dismay, Horia Ionaș quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 6-2. During the 95th minute of the match Pars Akkılıç completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Pars Akkılıç a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In the 96th match minute, Ayvalik FK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pars Akkılıç to maneuver through the defense. For all the effort they put into the match, the Ayvalik FK players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Steaua București.
