Steaua București's Manole Mocanu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bahiano Santalla in the 4th minute of play. Manole Mocanu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gaston Guerrero in the 5th minute of play. Iordache Arnăutu who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 6thth minute tested the skills of Modesto Mudarra when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Real Club Fuengirola's Modesto Mudarra proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 8th minute of the match, managed to save Real Club Fuengirola from getting a goal against them. In the 9th minute, Steaua București's Horia Ionaș dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. Toader Ipătescu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 13th minute of the match, but Modesto Mudarra made a huge save. The crowd rose to their feet as Steaua București's Horia Ionaș slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Modesto Mudarra. That made the score 2-0 after 14 minutes of play. 17 minutes in the game, Iosif Mitu dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gaston Guerrero in the 19th minute of play forced Steaua București's goalkeeper Manole Mocanu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Real Club Fuengirola getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Enrique Flores hit a great ball. 21 minutes into the game, Horia Ionaș cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Modesto Mudarra was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The crowd rose to their feet as Steaua București's Toader Ipătescu slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Modesto Mudarra. That made the score 4-0 after 25 minutes of play. Iosif Mitu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 28th minute of the match, but Modesto Mudarra made a huge save. With his leg Modesto Mudarra managed to avoid a goal in the 30thth minute, when Steaua București's Iosif Mitu fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. If Evaristo Sánchez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 37th minute, Iordache Arnăutu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Iosif Mitu kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Modesto Mudarra. That made the score 5-0 in the 38 minute of play. When Evaristo Sánchez fell near the penalty area in the 40th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Real Club Fuengirola's protests and gave Evaristo Sánchez a yellow card for diving instead. Evaristo Sánchez hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. In the 41st minute, Horia Ionaș left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Steaua București fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 6-0. Manole Mocanu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Evaristo Sánchez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 6-0.

The Steaua București fans' excitement grew in the 51st match minute when Steaua București's Iosif Mitu looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 7-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. If Iordache Arnăutu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 56th minute Iosif Mitu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Modesto Mudarra saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Toader Ipătescu fell near the penalty area in the 60th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Steaua București's protests and gave Toader Ipătescu a yellow card for diving instead. Toader Ipătescu kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. Horia Ionaș fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Modesto Mudarra having to interfere. Real Club Fuengirola's Modesto Mudarra played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Horia Ionaș in the 64th minute of play. In the 70th minute Iosif Mitu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Modesto Mudarra saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 71st minute of the game. One of Steaua București:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Real Club Fuengirola:s goal. Toader Ipătescu struck a weak shot in the 80th minute. Modesto Mudarra didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Steaua București. In the 86th minute the ball was on its way in behind Real Club Fuengirola's goalkeeper Modesto Mudarra, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 90 minutes into the match, Real Club Fuengirola's Bahiano Santalla sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Manole Mocanu narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Modesto Mudarra showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Horia Ionaș, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. In the 93rd minute, Toader Ipătescu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bahiano Santalla got free with Manole Mocanu in the 98th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When the referee ended the match the Steaua București players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
