In the 4th minute, Horia Ionaș got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 6 minutes into the game, Genco Seyidhan was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Erfelek's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Steaua București the free kick. After 6 played minutes Erfelek got a freekick which was hit by Genco Seyidhan. Aral Tanacan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Toader Ipătescu in the 6th minute of the match. Aral Tanacan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Horia Ionaș, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gelu Bogatu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Aral Tanacan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Toader Ipătescu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aral Tanacan having to interfere. Horia Ionaș sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 19 minutes into the match, Erfelek's goal looked a bit too open when Horia Ionaș came free, but Aral Tanacan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match had gone on for 21 minutes, Horia Ionaș put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Aral Tanacan. In the 24th minute, Gelu Bogatu made a precise shot to the right of Aral Tanacan. Erfelek's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Toader Ipătescu in the 27th minute of play forced Erfelek's goalkeeper Aral Tanacan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cezar Ponor hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. Sergiu Drăgoi kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 34th minute, Korcan Nuri managed to get in a good position for a shot. Erfelek's supporters rose to their feet, but Korcan Nuri was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Manole Mocanu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 37th match minute, Erfelek was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Oğuzalp Ocak to maneuver through the defense. Horia Ionaș recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 37th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Gelu Bogatu struck a weak shot in the 45th minute. Aral Tanacan didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Steaua București. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Horia Ionaș to strike the kick off in the second half. Manole Mocanu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Oğuzalp Ocak in the 54th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 58th minute, Gelu Bogatu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Steaua București's supporters rose to their feet, but Gelu Bogatu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Aral Tanacan breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Sergiu Drăgoi kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. In the 61st match minute, Erfelek was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Korcan Nuri to maneuver through the defense. Aral Tanacan was a little too slow when Horia Ionaș got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 63rd minute. The score was now 0-3. In the 67th minute the ball was on its way in behind Erfelek's goalkeeper Aral Tanacan, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 68th minute, Gelu Bogatu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Steaua București's supporters rose to their feet, but Gelu Bogatu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Aral Tanacan breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 72nd minute Oğuzalp Ocak shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Manole Mocanu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Genco Seyidhan was shown his second yellow card after 75 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 76th minute, Gelu Bogatu ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Aral Tanacan was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-4. Aral Tanacan didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Toader Ipătescu went, in the 79th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-5 was the resulting score. Oğuzalp Ocak sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Steaua București's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
