After 30 minutes of play, Newcastle United's Lars Axmann made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Daríus Sigmundarson was left in no man's land by his defense there! 35 minutes into the match, Newcastle United's goalkeeper Félix Göbl had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jörvi Daðason. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 36th minute of the game. One of Elverk Vogum:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Newcastle United:s goal. In the 40th minute, Lars Bruckmann got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 42 minutes into the game, Geir Mánason recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Félix Göbl. Geir Mánason showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-2. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Þorgarður Arnljótsson stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Lars Axmann received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Daríus Sigmundarson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gaston von dem Bussche-Haddenhausen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bart von Bassenheim kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. Geir Mánason received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Geir Mánason in the 74th minute of play forced Newcastle United's goalkeeper Félix Göbl to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Feldmann in the 84th minute of play forced Elverk Vogum's goalkeeper Daríus Sigmundarson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 92nd minute Daniel Feldmann shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Daríus Sigmundarson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
