In the 12th minute Lars Bruckmann shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Everardo Cao saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Daniel Feldmann received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Everardo Cao tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 16 minutes, Lars Bruckmann mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Newcastle United and the NewSkill FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of NewSkill FC booed when Newcastle United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lars Bruckmann didn't get a good kick on the ball. 26 minutes into the match, NewSkill FC's goal looked a bit too open when Lars Bruckmann came free, but Everardo Cao reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Daniel Feldmann struck a weak shot in the 33rd minute. Everardo Cao didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Newcastle United. In the 38th minute of the match, Lars Bruckmann tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Everardo Cao saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. NewSkill FC's Everardo Cao proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 42nd minute of the match, managed to save NewSkill FC from getting a goal against them. A collision led to NewSkill FC getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Saturnino Fonticoba hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Milio Ponte in the 46th minute of play forced Newcastle United's goalkeeper Félix Göbl to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Milio Ponte to strike the kick off in the second half. NewSkill FC's Milio Ponte got a good chance for a goal in the 51st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jonas Zaugg during the 54th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Milio Ponte struck a weak shot in the 56th minute.
