Piratas FC's David Aimar got a good chance for a goal in the 18th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 21 minutes had been played when some careless play by Piratas FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Albain Furst was slow to take the kick. During this time Zelg FC's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Serge Tomasini almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Piratas FC's Victorino Gaufred did a great save. 23 minutes into the match, Zelg FC's Gilles Clerc sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Victorino Gaufred narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Gilles Clerc scored 0-11 in the 91st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Victorino Gaufred, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gilles Clerc got free with Victorino Gaufred in the 94th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Victorino Gaufred was out of position in the 95 minute of play, and Gilles Clerc capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Gilles Clerc really showed his touch with that goal: 0-12. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Zelg FC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
