The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Antonio Paredes in the 19th minute of play forced Uruguay's goalkeeper Hilario Pesquera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Dario Betzanos in the 21st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Paradorn Todor prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Paradorn Todor didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Dario Betzanos went, in the 27th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. El Salvador's Paradorn Todor played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rosario Cepa in the 34th minute of play. After 35 minutes El Salvador's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Rosario Cepa who took care of the corner kick. When Uruguay's Dario Betzanos in the 37th minute got a chance for a shot 37th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye El Salvador's goalie prevented a goal. The audience was convinced that Dario Betzanos's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Paradorn Todor was relentless in the 37th minute of the game. If Miguel Gallegos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. 51 minutes into the match, El Salvador's goal looked a bit too open when Dario Betzanos came free, but Paradorn Todor reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Primitivo Grau spun around in front of the goal 53 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of El Salvador's goal. 54 minutes into the game, Baltazar Oporto was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. El Salvador's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Uruguay the free kick. In the 54th minute, Baltazar Oporto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 56 played minutes Uruguay got a freekick which was hit by Ireno Peon. 60 minutes into the match, El Salvador's goalkeeper Paradorn Todor had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dario Betzanos. Uruguay made a substitution. Estevam Moroño replaced Dario Betzanos. El Salvador's Carlos Palencia was substituted for Jaime Pineda. Uruguay made a substitution. Diego Godin replaced Cordario Vivero. After 63 minutes El Salvador's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Rosario Cepa who took care of the corner kick. Rosario Cepa made a great header on Uruguay's corner, it was just that El Salvador's Paradorn Todor managed to reach the ball for a save. 68 minutes into the game, Uruguay's Estevam Moroño nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Paradorn Todor made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. El Salvador made a substitution. Eliseo Guevara replaced Baltazar Oporto. 72 minutes into the match, El Salvador's goal looked a bit too open when Rosario Cepa came free, but Paradorn Todor reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 77 minutes into the match, Rosario Cepa notched a goal, 0-4, to the right of El Salvador's Paradorn Todor. Paradorn Todor was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. El Salvador's Maggi Gonzáles was substituted for Antonio Paredes. The audience was convinced that Raúl Quintanilla's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Hilario Pesquera was relentless in the 83rd minute of the game. Paradorn Todor made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rosario Cepa in the 87th minute. A collision led to El Salvador getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Saul Alas hit a great ball. After some careless play in the Uruguay defense, Raúl Quintanilla kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Hilario Pesquera. The Uruguay fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Hilario Pesquera should have stopped the shot. Paradorn Todor didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Estevam Moroño went, in the 94th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-5 was the resulting score. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Uruguay walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
