The crowd rose to their feet as Augusto Saldanha kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Dida Taffarel. That made the score 1-0 in the 16 minute of play. Augusto Saldanha's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Dida Taffarel firmly grabbed it by the left post. After 20 played minutes Marquês de Herval got a freekick which was hit by German Cano. Marquês de Herval's Dida Taffarel proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 24th minute of the match, managed to save Marquês de Herval from getting a goal against them. Dida Taffarel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Augusto Saldanha in the 27th minute of the match. Falcão Cunha showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alfredo Martins, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. In the 30th minute, Gracie Barra's Augusto Saldanha ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Dida Taffarel. Dida Taffarel yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. Thiago Silvan made in the 33rd minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Marquês de Herval's Selami Rezan. Dida Taffarel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jago Štriker in the 34th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Marquês de Herval's Moussa Kabre got a free kick in the 37th minute. In the 39th minute Thiago Silvan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dida Taffarel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

After 53 minutes of play, Gracie Barra's Augusto Saldanha made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. After 61 minutes, Augusto Saldanha made it 4-0 with a short kick to the right side. Marquês de Herval's Dida Taffarel tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Dida Taffarel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ke Feng Zhen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 68th minute Ke Feng Zhen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dida Taffarel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Falcão Cunha showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alfredo Martins, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. Marquês de Herval were awarded a corner in the 72th minute after Gracie Barra's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Gao Xiang Guang took the corner. After taking down the ball on Marquês de Herval's corner Gao Xiang Guang fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Falcão Cunha quite easily take care of the ball. In the 80th minute of the match Marquês de Herval got a corner. Gracie Barra's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Gao Xiang Guang ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on Marquês de Herval's corner German Cano fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Falcão Cunha quite easily take care of the ball. The corner ended in Gao Xiang Guang almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Gracie Barra's Falcão Cunha did a great save. Dida Taffarel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hugo de Queirós, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dida Taffarel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hugo de Queirós in the 83rd minute of the match. Ke Feng Zhen's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dida Taffarel read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 86th minute of play. Ke Feng Zhen might have been able to make a better finish in the 89th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Dida Taffarel. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ke Feng Zhen ran back to his position shaking his head. Hugo de Queirós sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Dida Taffarel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hugo de Queirós in the 93rd minute of the match. In the 96th match minute, Marquês de Herval was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Moussa Kabre to maneuver through the defense. After 97 played minutes, Gracie Barra's Murphey Shipman shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Dida Taffarel came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Gracie Barra reached it. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Gracie Barra had played much better football throughout.
