Romário Dantas came out of the goal and Luís Moldavsky tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cafu do Nascimento in the 12th minute of play forced Carrapichel - FDFDF's goalkeeper Tony Dias to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 15 minutes, Perivaldo Amaral mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Laranja EC and the Carrapichel - FDFDF players grew even worse after the yellow card. Laranja EC's Cícero Antunes got a good chance for a goal in the 34th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Luís Moldavsky received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Romário Dantas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.
