Cesar Cornelius didn't get a good kick on the ball. LOS BUITRES's Loco Higuita played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alfredo Martins in the 38th minute of play. In the 41st minute, Gao Xiang Guang hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 43 played minutes LOS BUITRES got a freekick which was hit by Erik Pinheiro. Loco Higuita showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alfredo Martins, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. After some careless play in the LOS BUITRES defense, Alfredo Martins kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Loco Higuita. The LOS BUITRES fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Loco Higuita should have stopped the shot. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Alfredo Martins to strike the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the match, LOS BUITRES's goalkeeper Loco Higuita had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Alfredo Martins.
