After the first half Daustad were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When Dário Diniz fell near the penalty area in the 57th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Club Deportivo Águila's protests and gave Dário Diniz a yellow card for diving instead. Dário Diniz hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. The Club Deportivo Águila fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gustavo Guimarães should have stopped the shot. Jo Øverås didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Miguel Gallegos went, in the 81st minute, to the upper right corner, 1-4 was the resulting score. Dário Diniz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Daustad would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
