The supporters of Falckner FC booed when Dep Colonia Avellaneda was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Claudio Cerritos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Victoriano Bernaldo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. In the 12th minute, one of Falckner FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Falckner FC. Falckner FC's Anastasio Maldonado played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leopoldo Rosa in the 15th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Darryl Buckner in the 19th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Anastasio Maldonado saved Falckner FC from getting behind. The Dep Colonia Avellaneda fans' excitement grew in the 24th match minute when Dep Colonia Avellaneda's Darryl Buckner looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Anastasio Maldonado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Darryl Buckner, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. Anastasio Maldonado showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Darryl Buckner in the 32nd minute of the match. 40 minutes into the match, Falckner FC's goal looked a bit too open when Darryl Buckner came free, but Anastasio Maldonado reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gianluca Vialli to make the kick off. When Damaso Inge came up free with the goalie in the 54th minute, the Falckner FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Damaso Inge couldn't finish the play. 56 minutes into the game, Leopoldo Rosa was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Dep Colonia Avellaneda's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Falckner FC the free kick. A collision led to Dep Colonia Avellaneda getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Leopoldo Rosa hit a great ball. 58 minutes into the match, Dep Colonia Avellaneda's goal looked a bit too open when Gianluca Vialli came free, but Victoriano Bernaldo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 59th minute Darryl Buckner shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Anastasio Maldonado saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gianluca Vialli fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Victoriano Bernaldo having to interfere. Anastasio Maldonado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Darryl Buckner, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. Darryl Buckner might have been able to make a better finish in the 70th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Anastasio Maldonado. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Darryl Buckner ran back to his position shaking his head. Anastasio Maldonado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Darryl Buckner in the 70th minute of play. Victoriano Bernaldo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gianluca Vialli, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gilberto Librado hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Dep Colonia Avellaneda's zone, Gianluca Vialli stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Victoriano Bernaldo came out of the goal and Gianluca Vialli tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Victoriano Bernaldo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gianluca Vialli in the 84th minute of the match. Darryl Buckner fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Anastasio Maldonado having to interfere. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Dep Colonia Avellaneda walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
