Inácio Machado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pieter-Jan Goethuys having to interfere. Pino Colebinders hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. 16 minutes into the match, Rubinho Loureiro notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of AFC Hoogdonk's Pieter-Jan Goethuys. Pieter-Jan Goethuys was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The audience was convinced that Rubinho Loureiro's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Pieter-Jan Goethuys was relentless in the 19th minute of the game. Elias Vissenaekers sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Elias Vissenaekers in the 32nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Alfredo Favoretto saved Tulhas from getting behind. Inácio Machado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pieter-Jan Goethuys having to interfere. In the 46th match minute, AFC Hoogdonk was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Roel Tuerlinckx to maneuver through the defense. After the first half Tulhas were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Rubinho Loureiro made a kick off. 51 minutes into the game, Roel Tuerlinckx was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. AFC Hoogdonk's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Tulhas the free kick. In the 52nd match minute, AFC Hoogdonk was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Roel Tuerlinckx to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Tulhas getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Osmar da Cunha hit a great ball. Alfredo Favoretto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Elias Vissenaekers in the 61st minute of play. If Elias Vissenaekers had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Inácio Machado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pieter-Jan Goethuys having to interfere. After 69 played minutes AFC Hoogdonk got a freekick which was hit by Mitch Goegebeur. After 70 played minutes AFC Hoogdonk got a freekick which was hit by Binjamin Libesoons. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Tulhas eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
