The audience thought a goal was coming when Pino Colebinders got free with Bartley Glen Crowe in the 4th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a little luck, Kells's Bartley Glen Crowe got control of the ball when Pino Colebinders tried to sneak it across the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 14th minute, Binjamin Libesoons managed to get in a good position for a shot. AFC Hoogdonk's supporters rose to their feet, but Binjamin Libesoons was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bartley Glen Crowe breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Bartley Glen Crowe made an important save on a dangerous shot by Binjamin Libesoons in the 16th minute. Daithi Holt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Pieter-Jan Goethuys tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 23rd minute, AFC Hoogdonk's Elias Vissenaekers dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. Elias Vissenaekers received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Bartley Glen Crowe came out and tried to block the shot, but Elias Vissenaekers slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 28th minute. Bartley Glen Crowe made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Elias Vissenaekers in the 32nd minute of play. In the 33rd minute, AFC Hoogdonk's Binjamin Libesoons dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 3-0. Pino Colebinders received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Bartley Glen Crowe tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 38 minutes, Elias Vissenaekers took a quick shot and it went in 4-0 without a chance for Bartley Glen Crowe to make any attempt to save it. Bartley Glen Crowe made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Elias Vissenaekers in the 41st minute of play. With his leg Bartley Glen Crowe managed to avoid a goal in the 42ndth minute, when AFC Hoogdonk's Binjamin Libesoons fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Bricin McPhilip hit a great freekick 48 minutes into the match. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 4-0.

The wind increased when Elias Vissenaekers made the kick off in the second half. Daithi Holt struck a weak shot in the 61st minute. Pieter-Jan Goethuys didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Kells. Daithi Holt could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 67th minute of the match, but Pieter-Jan Goethuys made a huge save. Pieter-Jan Goethuys took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Damian McTom, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Pieter-Jan Goethuys was a little too slow when Damian McTom got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 75th minute. The score was now 4-2. AFC Hoogdonk's Pieter-Jan Goethuys proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 84th minute of the match, managed to save AFC Hoogdonk from getting a goal against them. In the 90th minute, Damian McTom got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Elias Vissenaekers sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 96th minute, Damian McTom left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Kells fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-3. Kells's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
