When Jeremias Liher fell near the penalty area in the 21st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored River FC's protests and gave Jeremias Liher a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of AFC Hoogdonk booed when River FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jeremias Liher didn't get a good kick on the ball. With his leg Pieter-Jan Goethuys managed to avoid a goal in the 23rdth minute, when River FC's Anibal Soin fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Rolando Erauso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Binjamin Libesoons, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 27th minute Elias Vissenaekers shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rolando Erauso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rolando Erauso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Elias Vissenaekers in the 31st minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 34th minute, Binjamin Libesoons managed to get in a good position for a shot. AFC Hoogdonk's supporters rose to their feet, but Binjamin Libesoons was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

Louis Slabbaert kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Anibal Soin in the 56th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Pieter-Jan Goethuys prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Emanuel Isidor struck a weak shot in the 57th minute. Pieter-Jan Goethuys didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for River FC. After a defensive mix-up in River FC's zone, Elias Vissenaekers stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rolando Erauso came out of the goal and Elias Vissenaekers tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 61 minutes, Binjamin Libesoons mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the AFC Hoogdonk and the River FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Binjamin Libesoons kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. Binjamin Libesoons could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 65th minute of the match, but Rolando Erauso made a huge save. In the 90th minute of the match, Elias Vissenaekers tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Rolando Erauso saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 94th minute, Elias Vissenaekers reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Rolando Erauso. The goal made the score 3-1. River FC's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
