Roland Banaszak made the kick off and thus started the match. After 6 played minutes Al Arabi Umm Al Quwain got a freekick which was hit by Gawhar Al Amer. Domingo Jago fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Yazeed Al Saleh having to interfere. Yazeed Al Saleh showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Darwin Núñez in the 13th minute of the match. 13 minutes into the match, Darwin Núñez had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Yazeed Al Saleh. Al Arabi Umm Al Quwain's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Darwin Núñez was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. The Merengue FC fans' excitement grew in the 16th match minute when Merengue FC's Roland Banaszak looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Oun Al Banai kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. Roland Banaszak sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Through an outstanding action, after 21 minutes, Mateo Llorienzo successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. When Raimundo Gonsalvo fell near the penalty area in the 22nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Merengue FC's protests and gave Raimundo Gonsalvo a yellow card for diving instead. In the 23rd match minute, Merengue FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Raimundo Gonsalvo to maneuver through the defense. The audience was convinced that Roland Banaszak's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Yazeed Al Saleh was relentless in the 26th minute of the game. Mateo Llorienzo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Salam Al Hashash in the 28th minute of play. After having played for 30 minutes, Ismael Frances managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Merengue FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ismael Frances was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Darwin Núñez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Yazeed Al Saleh having to interfere. Ismael Frances sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Roland Banaszak came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the Merengue FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Roland Banaszak couldn't finish the play. Mateo Llorienzo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Yasser Shadad in the 40th minute. Yazeed Al Saleh showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Darwin Núñez in the 42nd minute of the match. Roland Banaszak sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. If Domingo Jago had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half Merengue FC were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Salam Al Hashash to make the kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Roland Banaszak got free with Yazeed Al Saleh in the 54th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Darwin Núñez struck a weak shot in the 56th minute. Yazeed Al Saleh didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Merengue FC. After some fancy dribbling in the 57th minute, Domingo Jago managed to get in a good position for a shot. Merengue FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Domingo Jago was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Yazeed Al Saleh breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Mateo Llorienzo came out of the goal in the 63rd minute to try and stop a shot by Al Arabi Umm Al Quwain's Yasser Shadad. But to his dismay, Yasser Shadad quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Gawhar Al Amer's late challenge caught a Merengue FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gawhar Al Amer helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Al Arabi Umm Al Quwain's Gawhar Al Amer got a free kick in the 66th minute. In the 67th minute, Ismael Frances got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Darwin Núñez in the 69th minute of play forced Al Arabi Umm Al Quwain's goalkeeper Yazeed Al Saleh to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 69 minutes, Darwin Núñez managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Merengue FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Darwin Núñez was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 73rd match minute, Merengue FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ismael Frances to maneuver through the defense. 81 minutes into the game, Darwin Núñez recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Yazeed Al Saleh. Darwin Núñez showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-3. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Darwin Núñez in the 87th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Yazeed Al Saleh saved Al Arabi Umm Al Quwain from getting behind. Merengue FC's Darwin Núñez was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 88th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Merengue FC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
