Merengue FC's Mateo Llorienzo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Saleh Al Dabos in the 21st minute of play. With a little luck, Al Shabab Al Arabi Club's Eriberto Amorim got control of the ball when Roland Banaszak tried to sneak it across the goal line. Eriberto Amorim was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Domingo Jago showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-0 in the 23 minute of play. When Darwin Núñez came up free with the goalie in the 27th minute, the Merengue FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Darwin Núñez couldn't finish the play. In the 80th match minute, Merengue FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ismael Frances to maneuver through the defense.
