Spectators: 50 (Terracing: 38, Seating: 11, VIP seats: 1) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Gaudencio Lekubegi took the kick off in the first half of the match. Iwan Lepucki made an important save on a dangerous shot by Arnauld Van Impe in the 3rd minute. The supporters of LavAzzA booed when Brugge United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dieter Uyttebroeck didn't get a good kick on the ball. Vítor Baia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gaudencio Lekubegi in the 12th minute of the match. 15 minutes into the match, Brugge United's goal looked a bit too open when Gaudencio Lekubegi came free, but Vítor Baia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Vítor Baia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gaudencio Lekubegi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Vítor Baia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gaudencio Lekubegi in the 18th minute of play. After some careless play in the LavAzzA defense, Guido Vissenaeken kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Iwan Lepucki. The LavAzzA fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Iwan Lepucki should have stopped the shot. After 26 played minutes, LavAzzA's Amerigo Labarra shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Vítor Baia came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in LavAzzA reached it. In the 29th minute Brugge United were awarded a corner. Jaspar Van Den Broeck went to the cornerflag to take it. Arnauld Van Impe got in the 31st a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Iwan Lepucki handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. Adam Vase sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 35th minute Gaudencio Lekubegi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vítor Baia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 36th match minute, LavAzzA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Xavier von Felten to maneuver through the defense. Guido Vissenaeken took the ball and in the 37 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Iwan Lepucki. Iwan Lepucki dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. Through an outstanding action, after 40 minutes, Iwan Lepucki successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Vítor Baia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adam Vase, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

Brugge United's Waud Huijbrechts was substituted for Jaspar Van Den Broeck. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Goffrey Sas to make the kick off. Vítor Baia made a fantastic save in the 57th minute, when Gaudencio Lekubegi sent off a good shot on target. LavAzzA's supporters rose to their feet, but Fred Feuerstein was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vítor Baia breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
