Timmernabben FF's supporters rose to their feet, but Arnulfo Lugo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. After 43 minutes of play, Deportivo Alavés's Wiggo Wipp made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Tomás Guillen was left in no man's land by his defense there! The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Arnulfo Lugo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 68th minute Deportivo Alavés were awarded a corner. Andrés Iniesta went to the cornerflag to take it. Deportivo Alavés's Xiao Mendez was substituted for Aggelos Papadias. Amador Urbasa kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. In the 81st minute, Amador Urbasa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Folke Lövgren's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Evander Zabel read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 81st minute of play. The supporters of Timmernabben FF booed when Deportivo Alavés was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wiggo Wipp didn't get a good kick on the ball.
