In the 13th minute the ball was on its way in behind Jovens Democratas MZC's goalkeeper Manoel Neuer, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Manoel Neuer took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rickard Erserman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Anton Björnberg made an important save on a dangerous shot by Xu Li Sang in the 19th minute. Inter de Chillán were awarded a corner in the 28th minute after Jovens Democratas MZC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Tobías Izamit took the corner. The corner led Inter de Chillán's Tobías Izamit to fire away a dangerous shot which Manoel Neuer despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Manoel Neuer showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rickard Erserman in the 34th minute of the match. In the 41st minute of the game Lúcio Cruz made a throw-in which Dobromir Zagrodny played forward. In the 44th minute Vatan Enfal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Manoel Neuer saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Xu Li Sang to make the kick off. Inter de Chillán's Anton Björnberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Durval de Queirós in the 51st minute of play. Lúcio Cruz took the ball and in the 56 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Anton Björnberg. Anton Björnberg dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Lúcio Cruz blasted a shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Anton Björnberg having to make a save. Durval de Queirós's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Anton Björnberg read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 60th minute of play. Manoel Neuer took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Samuel Abel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lúcio Cruz hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. 64 minutes into the match, Jovens Democratas MZC's goalkeeper Manoel Neuer had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Vatan Enfal. In the 65th match minute, Jovens Democratas MZC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mexhit Koçi to maneuver through the defense. Jovens Democratas MZC's Jozef Ilve was substituted for Mexhit Koçi. A collision led to Jovens Democratas MZC getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Mexhit Koçi hit a great ball. Marco van Basten struck a weak shot in the 68th minute. Anton Björnberg didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Jovens Democratas MZC. Jovens Democratas MZC's Manoel Neuer proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 70th minute of the match, managed to save Jovens Democratas MZC from getting a goal against them. Giuseppe Negri replaced Durval de Queirós. 77 minutes into the match, Jovens Democratas MZC's goal looked a bit too open when Florencio Jax came free, but Manoel Neuer reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 81st minute, Laerte Bittencourt hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eladio Araujo in the 82nd minute of play forced Jovens Democratas MZC's goalkeeper Manoel Neuer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Anton Björnberg stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Dobromir Zagrodny's shot from short distance in the 88th minute. Manoel Neuer made an important save on a dangerous shot by Vatan Enfal in the 92nd minute. In the 93rd minute, Fernán Chiquillo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 94 played minutes, Jovens Democratas MZC's Dobromir Zagrodny shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Anton Björnberg came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Jovens Democratas MZC reached it.
