Jovens Democratas MZC's Manoel Neuer played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gianluca Vialli in the 11th minute of play. Falckner FC's Gilberto Librado quite brazenly broke a throw-in by David Puyol, made in the 17th minute of the game. Urbano Shantala hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. In the 21st minute of the match, Durval de Queirós got a very nice opportunity to score, but Loco De la Maza was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. When Severino Gabrio came up free with the goalie in the 23rd minute, the Falckner FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Severino Gabrio couldn't finish the play. Manoel Neuer didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gianluca Vialli went, in the 26th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. When Jovens Democratas MZC's Xu Li Sang in the 30th minute got a chance for a shot 30th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Falckner FC's goalie prevented a goal. Falckner FC's Loco De la Maza played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Xu Li Sang in the 33rd minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Jovens Democratas MZC's zone, Gianluca Vialli stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Manoel Neuer came out of the goal and Gianluca Vialli tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 41st minute, Severino Gabrio ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Manoel Neuer was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2.

Manoel Neuer stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gianluca Vialli's shot from short distance in the 52nd minute. Severino Gabrio could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 53rd minute of the match, but Manoel Neuer made a huge save. Loco De la Maza showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dobromir Zagrodny in the 59th minute of the match. It was a well-played corner which Ruy de Brito managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Loco De la Maza took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Xu Li Sang, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match clock showed 67 minutes, the score became 0-3 when Gianluca Vialli sped through Jovens Democratas MZC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Manoel Neuer. Manoel Neuer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gianluca Vialli in the 77th minute of play. 86 minutes into the match, Jovens Democratas MZC's goal looked a bit too open when Gianluca Vialli came free, but Manoel Neuer reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jovens Democratas MZC's Marco van Basten was substituted for Durval de Queirós. Falckner FC made a substitution. Octavio Gorosti replaced Gianluca Vialli. Jovens Democratas MZC's Charles Eger was substituted for Mexhit Koçi. After 89 minutes Jovens Democratas MZC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Gaspar Francesco who took care of the corner kick. When Elano Loureiro fell near the penalty area in the 90th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Jovens Democratas MZC's protests and gave Elano Loureiro a yellow card for diving instead. After 90 played minutes Jovens Democratas MZC got a freekick which was hit by Elano Loureiro. If Maximo Aritza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Severino Gabrio's late challenge caught a Jovens Democratas MZC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Severino Gabrio helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Jovens Democratas MZC booed when Falckner FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Severino Gabrio didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 95th minute Marco van Basten shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Loco De la Maza saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Falckner FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Falckner FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
