If Sérgio Jacinto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sporting de Gijón's Óscar Cordoba played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sérgio Jacinto in the 25th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sérgio Jacinto in the 29th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Óscar Cordoba saved Sporting de Gijón from getting behind. Ekipa Damcia's Fabian Mojsiewicz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Diego Maradona in the 32nd minute of play. 33 minutes into the game, Sérgio Jacinto cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Óscar Cordoba was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in.
