The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Petter Vartdal charged in rather forcefully in the 3rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Petter Vartdal the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Åsnes getting a freekick after 4 minutes play. Petter Vartdal hit a great ball. After some careless play in the Åsnes defense, Ben-Ami Gol kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Sturle Åsland. The Åsnes fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sturle Åsland should have stopped the shot. Ben-Ami Gol succeeded in the game's 23rd minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 0-5. Kim Alnes might have been able to make a better finish in the 31st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Dário Tepedino. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Kim Alnes ran back to his position shaking his head. The Åsnes fans' excitement grew in the 33rd match minute when Åsnes's Kim Alnes looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-5 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. A collision led to Barreal FC getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Jairo Eneko hit a great ball. After some careless play in the Åsnes defense, Yu Guang Chen kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Sturle Åsland. The Åsnes fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sturle Åsland should have stopped the shot. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-7 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Sturle Åsland showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ben-Ami Gol in the 53rd minute of the match. Sturle Åsland made a fantastic save in the 60th minute, when Yu Guang Chen sent off a good shot on target. The crowd rose to their feet as Barreal FC's Yu Guang Chen slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Sturle Åsland. That made the score 1-8 after 61 minutes of play. Yu Guang Chen took the ball and in the 65 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Sturle Åsland. Sturle Åsland dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-9. When the match had gone on for 68 minutes, Adelino Corrêa put it in 1-10 from a short distance just to the right of Sturle Åsland. In the 71st minute Ben-Ami Gol shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sturle Åsland saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 72 minutes into the match, Ben-Ami Gol notched a goal, 1-11, to the right of Åsnes's Sturle Åsland. Sturle Åsland was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 77th minute, Adelino Corrêa fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Sturle Åsland, passed just outside the right post. Sturle Åsland made a fantastic save in the 81st minute, when Ben-Ami Gol sent off a good shot on target. Ben-Ami Gol scored 1-13 in the 83rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Sturle Åsland, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 87th minute Ben-Ami Gol collided with an opponent which caused him a fractured collar bone. In the 91st minute Kim Alnes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dário Tepedino saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Åsnes's defense didn't have a chance, in the 92nd minute, when Yu Guang Chen scored to the left of an out of position Sturle Åsland, making the score, 1-14. Eugeniusz Jaktorowo kicked well hit freekick during the 96th minute of the match.
