Justin Collingwood who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 47thth minute tested the skills of Kryspin Cupial when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Don Merlot stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the game, Noel Broom threw the ball into play from the sideline. SSV Ulm 1846's Sven-Olof Lilja quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Noel Broom charged in rather forcefully in the 73rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Noel Broom the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. If Don Merlot had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 78th minute Justin Collingwood shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kryspin Cupial saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 84 minutes into the match, Garlic Eaters's goalkeeper Nikolay Bonkov had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Albrecht Bosbach. The audience thought a goal was coming when Niclas Monschke got free with Nikolay Bonkov in the 88th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Albrecht Bosbach kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. In the 96th minute, Justin Collingwood ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Kryspin Cupial was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. For all the effort they put into the match, the SSV Ulm 1846 players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Garlic Eaters.
