It was Fidel Domenech who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on Alexandrie CF's corner Yannick Osterhagen fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Nery Pumpido quite easily take care of the ball. Nery Pumpido made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Francisco Conceicão in the 9th minute of play. With an all-out effort, Alexandrie CF's Nery Pumpido threw himself towards the right post 10 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Francisco Conceicão, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 13th minute, Máximo Perrone hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 19 minutes into the match, GuateFortín's Sven-Edvin Jansson sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Matthias Brandin narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 21st minute Sven-Edvin Jansson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Matthias Brandin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 22nd minute Francisco Conceicão shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nery Pumpido saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Xu Xing Ting could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 26th minute of the match, but Nery Pumpido made a huge save. 28 minutes into the game, GuateFortín's Sven-Edvin Jansson nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. The wind increased when Sven-Edvin Jansson made the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sven-Edvin Jansson got free with Matthias Brandin in the 54th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. GuateFortín's attentive Máximo Perrone managed to snatch the ball when Wang Guang Chuan made a throw-in in the 56th minute of the game. Sven-Edvin Janssons short, quick shot in the 57thth minute got Matthias Brandin to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. With his leg Matthias Brandin managed to avoid a goal in the 60thth minute, when GuateFortín's Roberto Trotta fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Nery Pumpido took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Yannick Osterhagen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alexandrie CF made a substitution. Boris Johnson replaced Francisco Conceicão. Boris Johnson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. GuateFortín's Nery Pumpido played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Boris Johnson in the 91st minute of play. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Alexandrie CF fans cheered their team off the field, for while GuateFortín had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
