Albi Solo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 15 minutes, Garry Mason managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Newcastle United's Pankracy Malicki got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Thomas Vollmar's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Paulo Victor was relentless in the 22nd minute of the game. In the 23rd minute Thomas Vollmar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paulo Victor saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Pankracy Malicki had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Paulo Victor made a fantastic save in the 33rd minute, when Pankracy Malicki sent off a good shot on target. Paulo Victor didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Pankracy Malicki went, in the 35th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-0 was the resulting score. If Thomas Vollmar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Paulo Victor showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Thomas Vollmar, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. The supporters of Newcastle United booed when Los Colegas del Barrio was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zosimo Ibanez didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Pankracy Malicki came up free with the goalie in the 42nd minute, the Newcastle United fans jumped to their feet. Newcastle United's Benedykt Gdaniec was substituted for Tadeusz Pstrongowski. When the match clock showed 61 minutes, the score became 5-0 when Thomas Vollmar sped through Los Colegas del Barrio's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Paulo Victor. Thomas Vollmar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paulo Victor having to interfere. Los Colegas del Barrio's Eutropio Harroyo was substituted for Zosimo Ibanez. Los Colegas del Barrio's Bitxintxo Etxeberria was substituted for Cosme De Silva. The corner led Newcastle United's Adam Pacholewski to fire away a dangerous shot which Paulo Victor despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Paulo Victor showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pankracy Malicki, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. Paulo Victor showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Thomas Vollmar in the 93rd minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 95th minute, Pankracy Malicki managed to get in a good position for a shot. Newcastle United's supporters rose to their feet, but Pankracy Malicki was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Paulo Victor breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Newcastle United had won after a very even match.
