The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 2 played minutes Verwachting got a freekick which was hit by Ruud Geels. Joaquin Loredo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 4th minute of the match, but Herbert Hilhorst made a huge save. In the 6th minute, Ruud Geels had to be helped off the field due to a pulled leg muscle. Ricart Iturburu's late challenge caught a Verwachting's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ricart Iturburu helped the player get up and apologised. Verwachting made a substitution. Auke Oldenbeuving replaced Ruud Geels. In the 8th minute, Ricart Iturburu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Auke Oldenbeuving in the 9th minute of play forced Ornopata's goalkeeper Rubio Mor to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Joaquin Loredo in the 10th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Herbert Hilhorst saved Verwachting from getting behind. In the 11th minute, Twan Hesseling hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Verwachting booed when Ornopata was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Karl-Michael Linberg didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 15th minute Pipo Inzaghi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Herbert Hilhorst saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Verwachting's attentive Hans Deitmers managed to snatch the ball when Karl-Michael Linberg made a throw-in in the 19th minute of the game. Rubio Mor made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Twan Hesseling in the 29th minute of play. In the 32ndth minute of the game Pipo Inzaghi who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Verwachting's Herbert Hilhorst was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Herbert Hilhorst made a fantastic save in the 34th minute, when Joaquin Loredo sent off a good shot on target. 36 minutes into the match, Verwachting's goal looked a bit too open when Pipo Inzaghi came free, but Herbert Hilhorst reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Twan Hesseling in the 39th minute of play forced Ornopata's goalkeeper Rubio Mor to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ricart Iturburu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 42nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Verwachting's Adriaan Kuypers got a free kick in the 46th minute.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Twan Hesseling made a kick off. Ornopata's Rubio Mor proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 50th minute of the match, managed to save Ornopata from getting a goal against them. Verwachting's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Christijan Schreuder in the 51st minute. Oliver van Kampen made a great header on Verwachting's corner, it was just that Ornopata's Rubio Mor managed to reach the ball for a save. Joaquin Loredo succeeded in the game's 54th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-0. Herbert Hilhorst showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pipo Inzaghi, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. Marco Pro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 76 minutes Ornopata's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Christijan Schreuder who took care of the corner kick. In the 79th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ornopata's goalkeeper Rubio Mor, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Ornopata's Karl-Michael Linberg got a free kick in the 81st minute. Ornopata's Pipo Inzaghi got a good chance for a goal in the 83rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Herbert Hilhorst showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joaquin Loredo in the 93rd minute of the match. Herbert Hilhorst made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marco Pro in the 95th minute of play. After 95 minutes of play, Ornopata's Marco Pro made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Herbert Hilhorst was left in no man's land by his defense there! There was no doubt that Ornopata were the better team. Ornopata's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
