The audience thought a goal was coming when Måns Sandberg got free with Aurelio Walme in the 8th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A collision led to S.E.R. Caxias do Sul getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Breno Vergílio hit a great ball. Safet Hands showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Breno Vergílio, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. Breno Vergílio might have been able to make a better finish in the 25th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Safet Hands. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. When Breno Vergílio got free in front of the goal in the 77th minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Safet Hands was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Norrlands Athen's defense didn't have a chance, in the 79th minute, when Breno Vergílio scored to the left of an out of position Safet Hands, making the score, 1-1. Safet Hands showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lucio Siekkötter, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. S.E.R. In the 94th minute, Gilbert Hermansson left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Norrlands Athen fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2.
