A.K.Sh Albania's Maximino Berto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Saltuk Askeroğlu in the 6th minute of play. Luciano Trigo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Andriy Lunin having to make a save. SC Freiburg 1904 e.V.'s Andriy Lunin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luciano Trigo in the 8th minute of play. After 10 played minutes A.K.Sh Albania got a freekick which was hit by Mehmet Halis Ergün. Maximino Berto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Niculae Ungureanu in the 15th minute of play. Andriy Lunin made a fantastic save in the 20th minute, when Mehmet Halis Ergün sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Niculae Ungureanu in the 22nd minute of play forced A.K.Sh Albania's goalkeeper Maximino Berto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Niculae Ungureanu scored 0-1 in the 23rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Maximino Berto, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 28th minute Ödön Szily shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Maximino Berto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Luciano Trigo in the 31st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Andriy Lunin saved SC Freiburg 1904 e.V. from getting behind. After 33 minutes, Henning Fink mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SC Freiburg 1904 e.V. and the A.K.Sh Albania players grew even worse after the yellow card. If Luciano Trigo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Maximino Berto came out of the goal in the 37th minute to try and stop a shot by SC Freiburg 1904 e.V.'s Saltuk Askeroğlu. But to his dismay, Saltuk Askeroğlu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.
